A pair of in-home recruiting visits kept Delray Beach, Fla., wide receiver Darius Millines busy on Sunday. Millines, one of the most highly regarded of WVU's 2010 verbal commitments, met with Tennessee assistant Eddie Gran just before West Virginia recruiting coordinator Doc Holliday and receivers coach Lonnie Galloway paid him a visit.
“It went pretty good. He was just telling me about them,” Millines said of the visit with Gran, “telling me how they run the pro style offense.
“I know that their coaching staff has only been there for 11 months.”
After hearing Gran’s pitch, Millines said nothing has changed concerning his verbal pledge to the Mountaineers. “It’s solid,” he said.
Prior to the in-home visit with Gran, Millines said he would likely set up an official visit with UT. However, that appears to have changed.
“I don’t think I’m going to take the visit there,” Millines said.
Millines said the visit with Holliday and Galloway went well and was business as usual.
Millines plays for American Heritage-Boca-Delray High School, who is 9-3 on the season and will play Fort Meade (12-0) in the class 1-A Florida state semifinal playoff game, on Friday. Last Friday, Millines racked up five touchdowns, four passing and one rushing, in a 63-14 route over Calvary Christian. He’s been playing quarterback for American Heritage-Boca-Delray in the schools’ last several games.
Millines also said sources close to the situation also informed him that defensive tackle Richard Ash is the newest player to commit to WVU for the 2010 recruiting class.
Ash is a 6-foot-3, 263-pound defensive tackle for Pahokee High School. He has remain tight-lipped regarding his recruiting and multiple calls to Ash have gone unreturned.
ESPN Scouts Inc ranked Ash the No. 50 defensive tackle for the 2010 class and reports Ash is considering South Florida, Minnesota, Southern Cal, Michigan and WVU.
Ash visited WVU along with Millines and a handful of other touted Floridian prospects back on Sept. 12, when the Mountaineers played host to East Carolina. He has not confirmed any commitment, and EerSports.com will keep you posted when and if such confirmation becomes available.
